This painting is not mine but it made me laugh out loud inside. It captured my attention while scrolling down my FB news feed about a week ago.
What is special in this painting? Can you figure it out?
I was awed of its simplicity when I first saw it. The scenery is good but what touched my heart was the gesture of the man embracing the woman. Really? Where?
If I'm going to interpret this painting, it talks about a couple at the park embracing each other. It amused me because it's one of the prohibited gestures/actions that is against social distancing protocol in public. Though the artist was just playing with the combination of colors, it seems like this couple just back together after being separated for a long time. I can't explain the force of love between them but it's kind of heavy. Sigh.
What was the mood of the artist in painting it? Kind of curious but I dismissed the thought of asking. Probably, it's just my wildest imagination but I can't help it. Days later, I asked the artist because it keeps on bothering me.
Jazzy, the artist shared to me that, she had mixed emotions when she painted it. It was her 3rd acrylic painting in canvas and she was afraid to make mistakes. In the middle of that, her husband encouraged and cheered her up. A misunderstanding occurred due to her work dissatisfaction but it was settled before the sun goes down and she was able to achieve the result she wanted to after all.
Oh, that's the story behind of this painting and it warms my heart. No wonder I felt the emotions and the force of love in this painting. When I looked at this painting again, I was able to see on the right the woman paints and on the left, the man hugs her. What an awesome painting.
To hug someone, to comfort and encourage is powerful most especially if he/she is encountering emotional crisis. It address the thought of anxiety, fear and insecurity one way or the other. We may have restriction in doing it because of this pandemic, still, our hugs helps to secure our loveones that we love them no matter what.
If only I can hug you guys. . . Will give hug air instead. 🤗
